Kettles
  1. What is the heating element made of?
The following Proctor-Silex® kettle models use an "immersed heating element" made of nickel-plated copper. The nickel coating resists corrosion by the water surrounding the exposed heating element:

    - K2070
    - K2077
    - K3070
    - K3077
    - K4070
    - K4077
    - K4080
    - K4087

All of our other kettles use a "concealed heating element" located underneath the water reservoir, so the heating element never contacts the water being heated.
