Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart water
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 bottle (32 oz.) cranberry juice
  • 1 can (26 oz.) pineapple juice
  • 1&1/2 to 3 cups rum
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 (1-inch piece) vanilla bean (optional)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in the crock. Stir well.
  2. Cover and cook on preferred setting:
    • Low - 3 hours
    • High - 1.5 hours

Yield: About 4 quarts
