Food Processors (Mid-Size) FAQs

Back To All FAQs

  1. Why won't the food processor start?
Because the bowl and cover are not locked in place. The interlock safety switch is not engaged, because the cover has not been turned far enough clockwise to engage. To ensure this does not happen see below:

First, make sure the bowl is locked onto the base properly. Then ensure the cover is locked on the bowl. The cover should be turned clockwise until the vertical tab is even with the arrow on the top housing next to ON.

  2. What will a food processor do?
Chop, shred, & slice a variety of foods, such as cheese and vegetables.

  3. What size bowl is available?
The standard bowl has a dry capacity of 5 cups and a liquid capacity of 3 1/2 cups.

  4. What blades or accessories are available?
S-Blade for chopping and Slicer/Shredder Disc for slicing/shredding.

  5. Will the food processor knead bread?
No, this food processor should not be used for this function.

  6. Will the food processor crush ice?
No, it is not recommended that your food processor be used to crush ice as it may damage the blades or the bowl.

  7. Can liquid be mixed in the food processor, if so how many cups?
Yes, but should not be filled above the 3 1/2 cup mark.

  8. What is the wattage?
    200 Watts.

  9. Can the external parts, such as the bowl, blades, lid, etc. be washed in a dishwasher?
The lid/cover and blades can be washed in the dishwasher TOP RACK ONLY. The base should never be put in the dishwasher.

  10. How do I assemble the unit?
    1. Make sure the unit is switched to OFF and unplugged from electrical outlet.
    2. Place base on clean, dry, level surface.
    3. Place bowl on base. Turn the bowl clockwise until it locks in place.
    4. To use the S-Blade: place the S-Blade onto the center shaft in the center of the bowl. The blade is sharp, handle carefully. When using the blade to chop firm vegetables, meats, & cheeses, the unit must be fully assembled with cover locked securely in place. Plug processor into electrical outlet. Turn unit On and drop food through food chute while blade is running. The S-Blade must be in place prior to placing any food in bowl.
    5. To use the Slicing/Shredding Disc: place disc shaft over the center shaft in bowl. Place the reversible slicing/shredding disc onto top of shaft with the desired cutting edge facing up.
    6. Place cover on bowl, lining up the dot on the cover with the bowl handle. Rotate clockwise until the cover locks into place. The motor will not operate unless the cover interlocking mechanism is properly engaged.
    7. The processor has an ON/OFF/PULSE three position rocker switch. Push the switch to ON for continuous operation. Push the switch to Pulse and release to turn the processor off. The PULSE position will operate the unit only as long as the switch is held in that position. When the PULSE position is released the unit will automatically turn OFF.
